The weekend camping extravaganza was much anticipated--imagining the sunsets on the lake, sitting by the fire, and consuming large quantities of s'mores. The latter two images are true; however, the rain and the wind would not quit, which contributed to my lack of catching fish. (I consider my two-hour attempt pretty honorable, alas, the professionals were more successful: Steven, Corey's 6-year-old cousin, caught six in a matter of a few hours, Brian caught a 10 lb. walleye, and even Tugger the dog had a catch, although unfortunately it was of himself (he's fine now).
Lots of reading and eating ensued, but not a lot of beauty maintenance. I came home and decided that maybe make-up and hair wasn't neccessary...CB thought the granola of the Northwoods had gone to my head, but I am slowly returning to my normal self.

I Never Claimed to Be a Techy
Well, here I am--under the make-believe pressure of society and my much more technologically-inclined friends--posting a blog. I've been assured that it's easy and it's a great way to share stories and photos. I agree with the latter, however, I am becoming more creative at means of distraction at work! That's not good. Just to warn you, there may be severe lapses in my posting due to actual work being done.
We're going camping this weekend at Lake Vermillion and the entire Kemp clan will be there. I am excited to use all of our awesome gear we got from the wedding--tent, lanterns, the whole nine yards. I am also interested to see if I can out-fish Corey, which has happened before.

Another one gets hitched

We just returned from Tampa, where we attended Leland & Kristin's wedding. It was such a blast! It always seems like I get to really relax on vacation but I come home still really tired. But a good tired. Something like, I had fun, and so there's a greater purpose to me losing sleep. Joe, Emily & Justin were our roommates. The ladies and the LePine parents spent a considerable amount of time lounging and working on our tans. Friday we went to the rehearsal dinner at Kristin's relative, where many Minnesoteans (present company excluded) mistook plantains for chicken wings. The wedding on Saturday was really lovely--the building on the Tampa campus was like a setting out of a Hemingway novel and the bride's glamour matched. Every wedding I've been to in relation to Corey is a major sensory experience--all of these people I never would have met otherwise. Sappy sentimentalist. Sunday Chris Long and his girlfriend Sarina went with us to lunch (apparently nothing is open on Sundays--the walk there was a bit long), us ladies did some vintage shopping and hit Gameworks, where I experienced the Dance Revolution, which I'll have you know, is not just for kids.
