Blessings of abundance
As we come to a close of this holiday season, let us remind ourselves of what we always want to have in abundance: family, friends, our health, safety & peace of mind. I hope the next year provides these gifts to all of you.

Visiting my friend gym
Poor gym's been neglected this season because my friend excuses has been visiting way too much. When my workout buddy and I didn't continue our 7:00 am workouts this fall, it became very easy to forget. Changing to GF and getting acclimated to the cooler temps has just zapped me of my energy. I am much more dedicated in the winter because frankly, what else is there to do? Also, there is a lot of hard times going on with several people I know--it just seems like I need to be a little more nurturing to myself. Since we're neighbors now, Jess & I have vowed to have a weekly [power] walk (she can really off-road with Issac's stroller) and I've asked for these for Christmas. Also if anyone's interested in CC skiing, put me on your call list! I know the snow hasn't hit yet, but I'm trying to prepare myself with the positive. Someone suggested I put this in our laundry room--find a TV to mount on the wall and I'm good to go!

Don't give the girl bread
So, I know that I have always had a "sensitive" stomach. I am sure there are about 50 million reasons why this may be, but I've learned that when things work, you may not know why, but you just have to stick with them. Case in point: I know that for me, for a while anyways, any more than a little of most bread products is bad news. So when I'm feeling good, I tend to forget that I need to refrain. So, please, my friends, help me in this very lonely period of detaching myself from items that my insides reject. I am mourning it now, but I know in the long run I am doing myself a great service. Maybe it's in my head? I'm doubtful. If you see me with a baguette, crostini or submarine, I give you permission to slap me silly. I'll see how it goes and if it makes me feel any different.

Big mouth

So apparently I'm on a roll with random postings today, but I returned to work from a week's vacation, so I think the ranting spews come out a little easier. I went to a new orthodontist a few weeks ago because I noticed one of my bottom teeth had started to turn. My parents spent all that darn money on braces so I figured that a small investment on my part to keep them straight is no trouble. I got fitted for a new retainer (not to mention the myriad of choices they have now--it's like Starbucks--glow-in-the-dark, glitter, with pictures, your name). Of course the process of getting impressions is nasty enough (I have a terrible gag reflex) with them shoving this metal thing in your mouth with ooze running out, but both the hygenist and the ortho commented on how big my mouth was. "Wow, we had to use the biggest mouth form on you..." Thanks. Is that reserved for cattle or something? Now I guess the terms sticks literally and figuratively. I went back last week to pick it up and this thing's practically got its own zip code. Lots of wire and these massive hooks that wrap around my back teeth. Then I popped both in and he informs me that he wants me to wear them 24 hours a day. Meanwhile I cannot even construct an audible sentence. I went out in public that day and I felt like I was the geeky 12-year-old all over again! Sorry bud, but I'll save those sexy mouth decorations for night night time.
